²⁶ Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee named^[a] Nazareth, ²⁷ to a virgin legally promised in marriage to a man named^[b] Joseph of the house of David. And the name of the virgin was Mary. ²⁸ And he came to her and^[c] said, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”
